Classed Up is provided by Object7 Technology Inc. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand how we collect and use personal information and data you provide on our website www.classedup.com and on the official Classed Up iOS mobile application. This policy includes:

What information you provide

We collect the information you provide when you create a Classed Up account or log into your Classed Up account. This information consists of your first and last name, email address, and password.

We collect the information you provide when you communicate with us over email. This information consists of your email address, full name, and email message content.

We collect the content and data you provide when you use the Service. This consists of test questions (including related image content, audio content, and text content), lesson content (including PDF files, image content, audio content, and text content), and test answers (including student-produced text content, image content, and audio content).

What information is automatically provided

We automatically collect certain types of usage information when you visit our website. This information consists of cookies (eg pages you view, links you click, actions you take on the website), information about your browser and online usage patterns (eg IP address, browser type, browser language, referring/exit pages and URLs, pages viewed, whether you opened an email, links clicked), and information about the devices you use to access the Service (eg mobile device identifier, mobile carrier, device type, model and manufacturer, operating system, and depending your mobile device settings, your geographical location data).

Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web-analysis service of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to analyze and improve our website on the basis of your usage pattern. The data accrued in this context may be transmitted by Google for analysis to a server in the USA and stored there. Should personal data be transmitted to the USA, Google has acceded to the EU-US Privacy Shield. Your IP address will be abbreviated prior to the analysis of usage statistics, however, so that no conclusions can be drawn about your identity. For this purpose, Google Analytics has been extended on our website to include the code “anonymizeIP”, in order to guarantee an anonymized capture of IP addresses. 

Google will process the information in order to evaluate your use of the website, to assemble reports on the website activities for the website operators, and to supply further services connected with website use and internet use.

As mentioned above, you can configure your browser so that it rejects cookies, or you can prevent the data being used by Google Analytics by downloading and installing this browser add-on provided by Google.

How we use and share the information we collect

We share data within the Service in order to perform the Service. On our website, teachers are able to create lessons, tests and questions for their students. On the iOS mobile application, students are able to view these lessons, and answer the tests and questions. A student may have multiple teachers, and a teacher may have multiple students. Only a student’s teacher will be able to view the students answers, and a student will only be able to download lessons, tests, and questions made available to them by their teachers.

On our website, the cookies that are stored are used to provide you with a better user experience. For example, we use or may use the data collected through cookies to: (i) remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the site, and (ii) provide custom, personalized content and information.

We use Google Analytics to help improve our business, by letting us analyze who visits our website, what they do on the website, how long users stay on the website, when and how often they visit the website, and where did they arrive on our web site from.

We may disclose your personal information as required by law; required to comply with a warrant or court order; related to an offence that has been or is about to be committed; required due to an emergency; made for the purpose of collecting a debt owed by you; protecting our rights and that of our users and third parties;

If Classed Up or some or all of its assets were acquired or otherwise transferred to a third party in the course of a company transaction, such as a merger, sale of company assets or shares, reorganization, financing, change of control, bankruptcy or other corporate event, the personal information of our users may be transferred to or acquired by a third party, but only if such third party agrees to be subject to the same commitments set forth in this Privacy Policy with respect to user personal information.

Communications from us

As part of our Service, we may use your information to communicate with you about your account or transactions with us, or send you information about Service updates, newsletters, or promotional materials. You acknowledge that by using the Service, Classed Up and our trusted third party business partners working on our behalf may send you email or engage in other communications with you. You can unsubscribe from these emails by clicking on the “unsubscribe” button within the body of the email. Please note that you are not permitted to unsubscribe or opt-out of non-promotional messages regarding your account, such as account verification, changes or updates to features of the Service, or technical or security notices.

Data retention

We retain student personal information, including test answers, for as long as the student is associated with an active (free or paid) teacher account, or until we receive a request to delete such information.

We retain teacher personal information, including lesson and test data, for as long as the teacher account is active (free or paid), or until we receive a request to delete such information.

To de-activate an account, please contact us at hello@classedup.com, and we will promptly delete or de-identify account data within thirty (30) days of such request or instruction, though we may retain and use certain information if necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Our Privacy Policy will change over time

Because we continue to develop the Classed Up Service and take advantage of technologies to improve the services we provide, our policies will change over time. We will note the effective date of the policy at the bottom of this page, and you should review this page periodically for any changes.
